Mariano Hernandez-Gil
Academic Background
A lifelong enthusiast of sensible and functional horsemanship, Mariano holds a first degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, as well as a Master’s Degree in Animal Nutrition.
With nearly 25 years of professional experience in ecosystems with equids, ranging from remote areas where working equids contribute to human livelihoods, to stud farms where equine athletes are raised, he focuses on promoting welfare and performance based on traditional knowledge, science and technology.
Being involved in practice, academia, and leadership, as a professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, he maintains the balance between medical and agricultural education models to ensure competent veterinary services in any context.
